I did it! I set out to learn how to knit socks and I did it!!! (Disregard the hairy legs. It's still winter and I need the extra insulation.)
I found this yummy hand dyed yarn at a local shop and went to one of their drop in classes which got me through turning the heal and then I figured it out from there following the pattern. I used two circular needles instead of four double pointed needles.
I've already purchased three more skeins of yarn which will make three more pairs of cool sockies.
The two that are still in hanks I found on etsy.com. What a great resource! Now I'm going to hunt for another pattern that's a different design.

Bravo! They look great! I'm learning to knit a sock as well but it's not going that well. Your yarns are marvelous!
That is awesome! I've always wanted to learn how to knit socks! Actually, I've always wanted to learn how to knit full-stop.
Cheers,
Dionne
PS - I too have that funny compulsion to mention things that bother me, but NOBODY else will notice. (Like a half a milimeter of unshaved leg) LOL
Very cool socks! I'm so impressed! I think knitting socks must be very difficult, even though lots of people seem to be doing it lately. It's totally beyond me - I'm all thumbs in the knitting dept. Can't wait to see your other socks - you've got beautiful yarns! Yuummm!
Your feet look great in those pink socks. I think my feet would look great in a pair of purple socks! What do you think?
Hey! They look good! Nice and toasty, just in time for Spring and Summer. hehehe.
Still LOVE those socks! Came around looking for a new post... but I still love those socks!
Cheers,
Dionne
